John and his buds drove from Provo to Las Vegas for the WCC
Basketball Championships. BYU won their first game, but lost their second.
John stayed at his friend's house, who if from Las Vegas. They had a
fun weekend, in spite of the BYU loss.
Duncan and Jane flew to Utah for the February 11th BYU Basketball game.
BYU won the game. Jane had wanted to hear a concert from "Vocal Point"
(a BYU acapella group, that competed on the TV show "The Sing Off").
Vocal Point just happened to be the group that sang the National Anthem
at the basketball game, and did the half time show! We got a 2 fer!
We love staying with Paul's family. It is a really nice bed and breakfast!!
Duncan got a ticket to the BYU Gonzaga basketball game in Spokane.
GU has such a small arena that it is really difficult to get tickets.
Tickets were selling for $450 a piece. We are BYU fans, but we were
not about to pay that much for a ticket. Luckily one the drug reps
had and extra ticket, of her season passes. It was an ugly game! BYU lost =(
John came home over Presidents weekend. John was ordained an Elder
in his priest quorum, with his Father ordaining him, and his Grandfathers,
Bishop, and Young Men Leaders all assisting. While he was home,
he also did his first tax return, hung out with his buds, and spent some time
re-reading Mark's letters. We all miss Mark. We also got to go out to
dinner for Duncan's birthday. It was fun to have John home for a bit.
John and Duncan doing taxes. So much fun!
Elder Mark Lahtinen played soccer with his Mission President,
and two Zones. President Ardila was on Mark's team, and they won!
Mark is in the top left corner, in his red USA soccer jersey.
President Ardila is in the front row, in the tan jacket.
